Feb 25, 2025
  • The mobility company adds vehicle reconditioning to the logistics activities it performs at its OK Village facility.
  • OK Village has involved an investment of 5.5 million euros, in addition to the purchase of the property, and the initial creation of 50 jobs.

OK Mobility has now started reconditioning vehicles at its OK Lean Factory facilities, located in OK Village, the automotive facilities boasting over 43 hectares in Calonge de Segarra (Barcelona). With this new activity, the company reinforces its used vehicle logistics activity, now adding the reconditioning of vehicles.

Since its inception in 2021, OK Village has involved an investment of 5.5 million euros (in addition to the purchase of the property), of which 1.6 million has been allocated to refurbishing thepre-owned vehicle factory. Furthermore, it has facilitated the creation of 50 jobs in the area.

OK Lean Factory operates from two of the six warehouses that comprise OK Village, which boasts 80,000 m² of outdoor and 40,000 m² of indoor storage. The facility has space for the reconditioning and preparation of pre-owned vehicles, with a modular repair capacity according to the production of second-hand vehicles sourced from the company's mobility fleets. Its infrastructure includes 8 production lines ensuring maximum efficiency, 300 checkpoints to provide the highest quality standards and 12 paint booths in which fine materials are used.

The new factory also stands out for applying the latest SmartRepair repair techniques and incorporating state-of-the-art technology for damage detection and opening repair orders on the go via a damage self-detection scanner. This innovative approach enables OK Mobility to optimise times, reduce operating costs and offer a more efficient and qualitative service to its Spanish and European dealer clients.

Othman Ktiri, CEO of OK Mobility, has assured that: "OK Village is the tool I have always dreamed of. It serves as a strategic cornerstone for our company, and the creation of OK Lean Factory represents a qualitative and transformative step in our operations, providing significant value to our clients by delivering our vehicles in optimal and guaranteed condition.” “This investment reinforces our commitment and passion for pre-owned vehicles, innovation, efficiency, and sustainable development while also generating a positive impact on the region," adds Ktiri.

Commitment to the local development

OK Village operates under a model that respects the local environment, relying exclusively on clean and renewable energy generated by photovoltaic panels while minimising water consumption. Furthermore, its PreMOT lines guarantee the highest quality repairs and compliance with the most demanding emission regulations. All of this is supported by a continuous improvement approach rooted in Lean processes, which integrate waste recovery and encourage the ongoing training of its technicians, thereby promoting operational efficiency and talent development in the region.

The Mayor of Calonge de Segarra, Xavier Nadal, emphasised that "In a municipality where agriculture has traditionally been our primary sector, initiatives like this are vital for diversifying the economy and creating new opportunities. Beyond facilitating the recovery of industrial activity by revitalising an old ceramics factory, OK Village has also enhanced job creation and bolstered the local economy, all while maintaining a strong commitment to sustainability and eco-friendliness.”

In this way, OK Mobility reinforces its commitment to innovation, sustainability and the stimulation of the local economy, consolidating its growth responsibly and in line with the needs of the environment.
